Upcoming Native Plant Events

Lately, I have been writing a lot about vegetable gardening (it is the season, after all), but I also wanted to share some information about upcoming events related to native plants:

• Irvine Nature Center: Native Plant Seminar and Sale, Aug 29. I have never been to this annual event, but this year I am finally going. I understand that they have great seminars and a wonderful plant sale. The plant sale is open to the public, but if you sign up for the seminar, you get into the plant sale early. • Herring Run Watershed: Native Plant sales. Although I have not yet bought any plants for the Herring Run Watershed Association, both of my rain barrels are from this group and I cannot say enough good about them. Their plant prices seem reasonable, and the money they raise goes back into protecting the watershed. http://herringrun.org/LearnSectionNativePlantNursery
